When can I park my vehicle in the parking lot at the Franklin County Veterans Memorial?

The parking lot will open for parking of vehicles beginning on Thursday, July 1st at 6:30 a.m.

Will the building be open on July 2nd for Red, White & Boom?

No.  Due to Veterans Memorial being in the firing and drop zone, the Fire Marshall has restricted entry to the building.

Where are the closest restrooms located?

There will be Porta Johns located in on Broad Street in front of Veterans Memorial.

What is the special event parking fee?

The special event parking fee for Red, White & Boom is $25.00 per space per day.

Thursday, July 1st - the hours of the day are from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Friday, July 2nd - the hours of the day are from 12:01a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

For example, if your vehicle requires one parking space, and you enter the lot on Thursday at 6:30 a.m. and depart on Friday at 11:30 p.m., you must pay $50.00 when entering the lot.

What constitutes a parking space?

A parking space is an 8' x 19' area.  Vehicles may occupy multiple spaces.  Management of Veterans Memorial reserves the right to determine the number of spaces required to park all vehicles or vehicle combinations.

Guests who pay at time of entry for a space that is not physically occupied by a vehicle become the responsibility of the owner to secure.  Management of Veterans Memorial reserves the right to approve all methods employed to secure parking spaces.

All parking spaces are for use by guests who have paid for a parking pass.  Aisle ways must be kept clear and open for pedestrian and vehicle traffic at all times.

Can I bring my grill or other cooking devices on the premises?

No.  Only licensed vendors with pre-approval from the Fire Marshall and Veterans Memorial may bring any cooking device onto the premises.

Where do I display my special event parking pass?

The special event parking pass should be displayed on the driver's side of the front windshield of the vehicle.

If multiple spaces are purchased, a multiple-vehicle permit will also be issued.  Both the permit and the paid and punched special event parking pass should be displayed on the driver's side of the front windshield of the vehicle.

Can I use my pass on an in-out basis, or share my space with another guest or save a space?

No.  All vehicles entering the parking lot must purchase a pass.  No in-out privileges are conveyed in the purchase of the pass.

No.  The pass issued is intended for the sole use of the vehicle entering the parking lot.

No.  No vehicle will be admitted to the lot and allowed to occupy a space saved by another guest, or to park a different vehicle in a previously occupied space, even if the space was purchased by another guest.

What if I need to leave during the event?

Between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., no vehicles will be permitted to leave.  The parking lot will be fenced closed.  Only emergency and authorized vehicles will be able to enter and exit.

If scheduled Red, White & Boom activities are modified or cancelled, will my guest parking fee be refunded?

No.  If planned event activities are modified or cancelled, no refunds or rain checks will be issued.

When can I exit the parking lot on July 2nd following the fireworks display?

Traffic exiting the parking lot following the conclusion of the planned fireworks display is under the control of the Traffic Division of the Columbus Police Department.  In previous years it has required as much as 60 minutes before vehicles could begin their exit from the parking lot.

Items not permitted:

Pins, poles, stakes and comparable devices that puncture the asphalt parking lot surface.

Fireworks of any type (including sparklers) or firearms

Fires of any type, including charcoal and propane gas grills

Animals or pets

Tossing, throwing or play with Frisbees or sport balls

Bicycles, roller blades, scooters, skates, skateboards, motor scooters, motorcycles or similar conveyances

Please make use of the trash receptacles placed in the parking lot

Veterans Memorial is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen items.

COMMON SENSE, PATIENCE AND RESPECT FOR THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF OTHER PARTIES UTILIZING THE PARKING AREA WILL ALLOW ALL OUR GUESTS TO ENJOY THE RED, WHITE AND BOOM CELEBRATION.

MANAGEMENT OF THE VETERANS MEMORIAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANY GUEST AND ANY VEHICLE FROM THE PREMISES FOR REFUSAL TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE STATED GUIDELINES.  THE VETERANS MEMORIAL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND AND ENFORCE THESE REGULATIONS WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
